Hi,

I would like to rename multiple categories into german. For example: department into Abteilung ect. Is there a way I can rename the fields?

Roughly 82% of Connections is already translated into German. Do you have the German WordPress installed?

yes i have. But I would like to use the categories for other subjects. I need a field for the secretery or the superior and would like to rename it into the german word. I thought there might be a way to rename the given categories in the php-file.

I see. In that case the better option would be to use the Say What? plugin.

It’ll add a new Text Changes menu item. Click Add New, enter the string exactly as shown in Connections, enter connections as the domain and then enter your new text.

The great thing about using this plugin is that it will be update safe and you can use it on any other plugin that has been properly internationalized. Hope that helps.

Although, I never tested to see if it would work on a translated version of Connections. So I’m not sure if the original string should be the English or the German.

If that doesn’t work out, presently, the strings for the form fields will be in the class.form.php.

Unfortunately the plugin does not work. I send you a picture, maybe you can check the correctness.

It still appears biography and notes.

In the class.form.php I could not find “biography” and “notes” contributions.

Ok, the screen shots makes things clear now. I thought you were asking to change the fields title in the admin not on the template. The template has a different method.

Oh, the correct text domain is connections not Connections; notice the capitalization. It makes a difference.
