ParticipantI couldn’t find out how to rename the labels (for example for the Address type) displayed in the Entry form. I’ve tried with the Say What plugin but this is not working.

The Say What? plugin would be exactly how to do it. Did you follow the steps in the QuickTip exactly? The two most common errors spelling and capitalization. After you’ve double checked and its still not working for you, please post a screenshot of the text you want to change and the settings in Say What?
Let me know how it goes.

ParticipantHi Steven,
I am pretty sure I’m doing what’s described in the QuickTip. Say What? is working fine for some replacements but for a few I haven’t been able to find a solution yet.
Those are:
- the link ‘Add My Directory Entry’ shown on the page where I have the [connections] shortcode
- in the backend, some labels in the Add Entry form such as the address types and the telephone/email dropdown
Here are some screenshots. The red underlined text changes do not work.

The first the I see that stands out … You need to enter the original in English not the original string in German. Sorry, nothing I can do about that. It is just the way WordPress handles swapping strings.
With that said…
Add My Directory Entry
Do you have the Form extension installed and active? If you do, the text domain will be ‘connections_formnot
connections_link`Biographical Info
The original string must beBiographical Info
. There is no text domainconnections_manage
so you should delete that.Telefon
I can not tell from the screenshot which you’re trying to change, but you need to enter the original string in English.Zuhause
There is no text domainconnections_slim
, so that is not going to do anything. If you’re trying to change an address type label the text domain needs to beconnections
and the original string in English.Hope that helps!

GuestAwesome, thanks! I wasn’t aware that I needed the English terms. My WordPress installation is running in German so I do not see the original but I’ll be able to figure them out or I’ll set up a site clone in English.
Thanks again, Markus
