Participantthis was working just fine last week… and today, of course, shortly after sending out an email to members urging them to update… nobody can GET to the “edit your directory listing” screen except admin!!!!
we use s2member to manage our paid memberships… i have the Link extension installed… using cMap template (with some customizations)…
site is http://www.comoxvalleyarts.com
what happens is once user is logged in, they get to a “welcome page” managed by s2member… and when they click the “update directory listing” from either the nav or the “howdy menu” :) they just keep coming back to the welcome page…
link in both places is http://www.comoxvalleyarts.com/cvap13/wp-admin/users.php?page=connections_link
i was SURE i’d tested as a non-admin and a couple members have been able to update … last week.this was NOT happening earlier… and i have NO IDEA what i changed.
thought maybe it was permissions somewhere, but all appear to be accurate.02/24/2014 at 5:43 pm #280998Steven Zahm

Well, Connections does not do any redirections based on user role. That is a very common feature of member plugins. The best suggestion I can make is to scour your settings for anything mentioning redirection based on user role or limit admin access or anything similar.

One other thought, the Link admin page requires the
read
capability. Make sure that whatever role that you are assigning your members, make sure they haveread
capability. If I remember correctly, all core WP roles as well as the default roles for s2member have this capability by default. If you created a custom role for your members, it might not have this capability.Hope that helps.

Participantsee… just needed an extra brain for a moment…
for reference, should anyone else do the same stupid thing i did…
if you’re using s2member… in your general options, make sure under “Member Profile Modifications” settings, to set “Redirect members away from wordpress admin” to NO…
