ParticipantHi Steve,
I’m still not receiving email notification of new/updated listings. You still have an admin login for shopburnet.org I can resend credentials if you like. I also have email logs from the intended recipient address (info@shopburnet.org) that I can share. No sign of email triggered by Connections…
Thank you!07/30/2015 at 1:41 pm #341669John
ParticipantI see you have created a test listing, and I received the email. You will notice nothing sent according to log since 7/8/15 although new listing have been created. What did you change/do differently?

I just logged in and did a test… I received the email notifications… Connections also now has it’s own email logger which can be found on the Connections : Tools admin page under the Logs tab. The log will record all email sent by the core plugin are well as the Form and Contact extensions. If it is recorded as being successful, that means the command was sent successfully to the server by WordPress. If you do not receive email notification marked as successful that is due to either the web host failing to send (common on shared hosts) or the receiving server rejecting them or flagging as spam or the email app flagging as spam … nothing can be done by any plugin to address those issues. The best way to solve those issue is to use an email host such as Mandrill (they have a WP plugin).
Connections is also compatible with the following third party email logging plugins:
Of the above, Log Emails, is best for general email logging. The other two, code quality is questionable.
The email will also be logged in Postman SMTP (mentioning it since you have it installed). As you see, my test submission, the notification were sent successfully.
Hope that helps!

ParticipantThanks Steve!
Like with my car, I can never get it to make the same noise when I bring it to the mechanic! ;)
Seems like it works just fine, now! Thanks again! And as always, great support!

Thanks!
One thought … since I do not know the details that triggered this… If it was just someone testing.. if they want to test email notifications triggered by Connections, they can not test logged in as an admin as the admin will not trigger email notifications. They should test logged in as a “user” with the same permissions as the “regular” users on the site.
Hope that helps!
