ParticipantI’m having a hard time getting the grid images to display at the proper size. I used the following shortcode:
[connections image_width=150 image_height=200 background_color=FFFFFF]
My photos are not displaying at the size I set in the shortcode (150×200), and some of them are being cropped more than others, depending on the size of the person’s name. It looks terrible. I don’t have all my photos in yet, but you can see what’s happening here:

Is there another setting somewhere I need to change to get this to work?

I took a look at you page, all the images are infact being cropped at 150x200px. I think there is confusion on the name overlay works. The name and title overlays the image. Take a look at the demo page for Gridder. Look at demo 1 and 2 and compare them. They both are the images set at the same size. The difference in the “apparent cropping” is the name overlaying the image.
That said, what you need to do is adjust the widget and height of the image to be a little bigger so it looks better.
Hope that helps!

ParticipantIs there any way to have the names and titles displayed below the photos? Or at the very least, can I change the opacity of the background behind the names & titles? That background is cutting off people’s chins. Or do you have some other suggestion on how to fix this?

re: Is there any way to have the names and titles displayed below the photos?
Sorry, no, this is not possible as trying to change it breaks a lot of the styles in the template because it was designed from the ground up to display the way it does.

There’s a few options. I think making the crop taller would work. Uploading images with more bottom image that can be cropped off forcing the image to be cropped higher due to the change in the center origin of the image in which the cropped is based on. Or adding the following to the theme’s custom CSS area which will change the padding around the name and title which will reduce it’s space and changes the opacity to 80$. Tweak as desired.
#cn-gridder .cn-gridder-overlay { padding: 6px 32px 6px 6px !important; opacity: .8; }
Hope that helps!

ParticipantThe opacity definitely helps, but if I change the image height in the shortcode, the image width seems to increase as well, so that doesn’t fix anything. It’s impractical for me to re-shoot everyone’s headshots, so I may have to give up on this template. Is there any way I can get a refund on this purchase? It’s just not going to work for us.

The width does not change when changing just the height.
re: It’s impractical for me to re-shoot everyone’s headshots,
You do not need to reshoot anything. You post process your photos do you not? It seems you are because the images do look pretty well balanced from shot to shot. When post processing them, adjust image size accordingly.
re: Is there any way I can get a refund on this purchase? It’s just not going to work for us.
Sorry, but refunds are reserved for when the item does not work in the installed environment which very rarely ever happens. Besides, it is clearly working. Infact, the page looks pretty good right now, screenshot attached ()names blurred).
If you would like to make the name overlay to take up even less space, you could turn the title off

ParticipantWe need the titles on there, and I don’t want their names on top of their chins. I had no idea when I bought this that the layout was designed with their names and titles overlayed on the photos. From your example page, it just looks like they are underneath each photo. Those must be some very tall headshots you used.
I’m disappointed and feel like I wasted $20. I’ll be uninstalling and trying something else.

It is not a hidden. That one of the reason demos and real live site examples are given. That way one can know what to expect.
re: Those must be some very tall headshots you used.
No, not really. The second demo shows close to the full image. The template scaling them down a bit to fit. The third demo shows who they appear in a much smaller format.
This site is doing using smaller headshots, one of the live site demos:

Sorry to hear that! I have processed the refund and revoked the support license. Refunds can take 7–10 business days to be processed by the payment processor. Wish you the best with your site there are many great alternatives. Perhaps one of those will better suit you and your design needs.
