ParticipantHi, I’m running the latest version of connections pro with the CMAP template. The website I’m using it on it 1000islands-clayton.com. On the website the listings appear in the correct category, however when found in search results Google is indexing them wrong.
For example, Tricia’s Rondette Restaurant appears under the correct category of dining on the website, however, when you do a Google search for Tricia’s Rondette you get this URL http://www.1000islands-clayton.com/thousand-islands-directory-1000-islands/worship/name/tricias-rondette-restaurant/ saying that it is a place of worship instead of dining.
This also happens with The Golden Locker – under shopping on 1000islands-clayton.com but in Google shows up as construction.
Please advise. Thank you.

This is due to the fact that you created separate pages for the different categories in Connections. That is fine but you left the category filter enabled on each of the pages… so even if you are on the dining page, you can use the category filter to display the worship category. Google will faithfully use that category filter and follow those links and index those pages.
The solution, you need to disable the category drop down filter. Eventually, Google will update its index with the correct links.
Hope that helps!

Here’s how…
- Navigate to the Connections : Templates admin page.
- Click the Customize button for cMap.
- The page will reload with the Customizer on the left and a preview on the right.
- Click the back arrow in the upper left of the Customizer.
- Click the Category Select panel.
- Disable the “Enable Category Filter” option
- Click the Save and Publish button.
- Exit the Customizer.
Hope that helps!
