I am sorting my directory by values entered into the zip code field (all the other sortable fields are being used). Unfortunately this confuses the google map. I was wondering whether it’s possible to get the google map to sort on city and country only, and ignore the zip code field? (Bit of a long shot, I know.)
My first thought was… huh?!? But I think I understand after reading it few more times… I think :D
You are using the zipcode to apply a custom sort, but this causes the Google map to display the incorrect map pin location. Is that correctly restating the issue?
You could use the Custom Fields Meta Name and Value and apply custom sorts with those rather than repurposing other fields instead. That seems like it would be a cleaner solution. Here’s one example:
You could create several meta key names and sort on their values.
Would that work?
Yes, you have correctly understood the issue. Sounds like a good solution – I’ll give it a go.
Thanks for the prompt reply – I really appreciate your excellent customer service.
