ParticipantWe’re trying to get a Google map to display in each of our business listings. I followed the instructions you have on the site for creating API keys, plus the revision you posted in this topic: https://connections-pro.com/support/topic/directory-not-appearing/
Is there another way to verify that the keys are setup properly and working?
In our business listings, we are not putting in physical address, but rather a building number and latitude/longitude. Should it still work with those settings?
Here is an example of the settings: http://awesomescreenshot.com/03e69hlq7b
And the resulting listing: http://villageatsunriver.com/directory-of-businesses/name/amerititle/

Please navigate to the Connections Settings admin page and click the Advanced tab. Re-enable the “Google Maps API v3” option. This is enabled by default, perhaps it was turned off inadvertently.
Does this fix it? If not, please leave the option enabled and I’ll look at the page again.

ParticipantI enabled the “Google Maps API v3”, purged caches, then refreshed the page. I do now see that the map is attempting to come up, but then it shows this error:
Oops! Something went wrong.
This page didn’t load Google Maps correctly. See the JavaScript console for technical details.03/14/2017 at 5:42 pm #415595wpmonkey
ParticipantWe only have lat/long values, not a physical address. If that has anything to do with it.

ParticipantI also tried turning off the Google Maps script within the theme setting s(Avada) but that did not change it and then the map did not display on the Contect page.
Here’s the error message in the console:
Google Maps API error: RefererNotAllowedMapError https://developers.google.com/maps/documentation/javascript/error-messages#referer-not-allowed-map-error

Is there a way to check or verify the Google Map keys? I entered the base URL

Google is telling what the issue is right in their error message: “RefererNotAllowedMapError”
Here is the link to their error docs which describe the error and why you are receiving it:
Basically the URL that you set as a restriction is not correct so the request is being rejecting by Google.
Use the referer I recommend in the docs.
In you case it should be :
http://villageatsunriver.com/*The preceding http:// and trailing /* are important and should not be left off otherwise your Browser Key may not work because it will not be able to validate the referrer.
Hope that helps!
ps. Is it lovely that Google made this so difficult?

ParticipantThank you for that information. Strange, I keep going back to the API Manager > select my project > Credentials > Domain Verification and the screen is blank until I add the domain once again. I made sure that the same account has ownership in Search Console.
Do you know if it takes some time to populate? I’m pretty sure that I added the domain a couple of days ago as well, but when I go back to that tab, it’s blank.

ParticipantOH wait, now I’ve got it. I also had to go into the browser api key and add the full domain address, not just in the Domain Verification tab. Whew.

ParticipantFollow up question… how do I control the zoom for the Google Maps in the business directories?

RE: OH wait, now I’ve got it. I also had to go into the browser api key and add the full domain address, not just in the Domain Verification tab. Whew.
Right, domain verification is separate and different from the browser referrer restriction.
RE: how do I control the zoom for the Google Maps in the business directories?
The plus (+) sign in the upper right of the map controls the zoom.
