ParticipantApologies in advance if I’m asking a redundant question, I thought I had seen this topic somewhere before but searched and searched and could not find it.
I’d like to have the bio and or info tabs be auto-opened upon page load. In a perfect scenario, I’d like to do this via the shortcode customization.
Is this possible at all? And if not by the shortcode, is there a php change that would force this ONLY on the page that was set as the Connections ‘home’ page?
Thanks.

Question? Per our previous discussions … your not looking to do this on the directory home page per say, but when a user clicks thru to a single entry, right?

ParticipantYes, I believe that is the best way to describe it. When someone clicks on the permalink (record name) in the full directory (which I set on a page that is NOT the Connections homepage) it opens that individual record, on that page that IS set as the Connections homepage. On ONLY this individual record page would that records’ info and bio tabs be automatically opened.
Does that make sense? Let me know if you have any ideas on how I might do this.
Thanks.

Yep, that makes sense and is exactly what I thought you wanted. Right this second, there is not an easy way to do this with just a small edit or anything … now, I alluded to stuff happening this month … well, one of those items was a complete revamp on how templates are built. Moving forward all new templates and updates to existing templates will use this new system. The first of which are Slim and the new Slim Plus templates. The rest will follow throughout the month. As an end user the only change you’ll see or should see is that you’ll install them as a plugin rather than using the template installer. Now that templates are actually just like any other plugin, I can do so much more with them such create settings pages for them so one doesn’t have to mess with shortcode options. This will not happen in the first wave of updates because of time constraints, but it will come. Now what does this have to do with your question? Well, it doesn’t make sense to rewrite a core system and not throw some enhancements in, right? One such enhancement, part of template creation I can register the various parts a template has and one of those template parts is a single view for a card [entry]. See where I’m going with this? The update to cMap will include a single view where the bio, map and notes are expanded. No settings required. The basic logic is that if Connections sees “/name/” in the URL, that has to be a single entry and thus the single card template part will be used to show the entry.
Man, I hope that makes sense!

GuestHi Steven,
Just read that you are revamping templates…can Icon’s be used lik an icon for “info”…Icon for “map”…Icon for phone….it more of the look now and would save on space also could they be responsive…. and if the info part would be on the left side and picture on the right side the info would be easier to read….just some suggestions I would love to see. Thank You for the awesome support!
