I am interested in Connections and (probably) cMap or Market.
This would be for
The question I cannot find the answer for: is it possible to display only a certain categories or subcategories.
I want to create a directory by city/state similar UK Beauty Salons or Habitat for Humanity.
However, I want to have a page for New York and only list New York professionals there.
Then another page on the site will list Pennsylvania and I would like to display only Pennsylvania professionals there and so on.
This is only for big citie where there are lots of listings, mostly. The rest can use the main drop down.
There would be a page to see all but 50 states plus subcategories + overseas is a lot in a drop down to scroll through.
Is this possible to display the directory on multiple pages but limit the display to the particular categories?
Yes, this can be accomplished with any of the templates that support the category drop down such as cMap. See this FAQ.
Based on what you’ve describe, the state would each have to be their own top level category (root parent) plus and overseas top level parent category. Settings it up like that seems like it would meet you requirements.
Hope that helps!
