GuestSo to my knowledge, without having strong PHP and CSS editing experience (I have just enough to make basic changes and to get myself in trouble :) ), the following are what I am sure should be simple changes and honestly SHOULD be considered a “new feature” to apply to all settings.
First:
When entering in a contact, rather individual or organization, can you either just guide me what to edit and I can do it myself, and if possible, you should make it available to everybody in future releases —
-
instead of having the option of “Work Email” “Home Email” “Other Email” etc, you NEED a plain option of just saying a simple as “Email” — as well as do this for “Phone” and “Address” and take off the “Home/Business/Other” prefixes. It would appear more professional in my client’s case to just have the simple “Phone” “Address” “Email” when they are displayed.
–As I mentioned, I can make the changes for now myself, but I can’t find where to find these changes at and have been looking around in several of the CSS files and some of the PHP files with no luck.
Second:
ON the CMAP template, again if I can make this easy change myself, I can, just let me know how, but if they don’t have a logo or image available,-
instead of automatically showing a “No image available” image, can you just make there be no image, period?
There are some “members” that will have image and/or logos for their listing, after paying a fee to have it, but for everyone else, they won’t have any image, and I personally think it looks VERY tacky having the image with the text “No image available” — as it makes the site appear broken to me like something wasn’t done right, I don’t like it, and my client doesn’t like it. Please consider changing this and if possible if it is a quick coding issue I can input, show me how so I can do it ASAP.
The connections plugin has been held off going live because of a lot of customizations my client would like that you don’t have out yet, some stuff that seems like it should be already an option, but that is okay, I understand that it DOES take a lot of time to do all of this, so thank you. SO far I have been able to make most of them, but these two I can’t figure out what to do with it.

You can easily change the just about any string in Connections to anything that you wish. Take a look at this post. Doing it this way is alo update safe.
Another option you have is this. HOwever, these options will only affect the display in cMap. Here’s the complete list available to cMap:
str_select='Select Category' str_select_all='Show All Categories' str_image='No Logo Available' str_tray_image='No Photo Available' str_map_show='Show Map' str_map_hide='Close Map' str_bio_head='Biography' str_bio_show='Show Bio' str_bio_hide='Close Bio' str_note_head='Notes' str_note_show='Show Notes' str_note_hide='Close Notes' str_contact='Contact' str_home_addr='Home' str_work_addr='Work' str_school_addr='School' str_other_addr='Other' str_home_phone='Home Phone' str_home_fax='Home Fax' str_cell_phone='Cell Phone' str_work_phone='Work Phone' str_work_fax='Work Fax' str_personal_email='Personal Email' str_work_email='Work Email'
The placeholder image can also be adjusted too, just add this as a shortcode option:
image_fallback='none'
These are just a handful of options available to cMap, the rest can be found here.
What other changes did you have to make?
Hope that helps.
