ParticipantHello,
When I try to activate the new version 8.2 I get this fatal error:
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_PAAMAYIM_NEKUDOTAYIM in /var/www/diskidee/wp-content/plugins/connections/includes/template/class.template-parts.php on line 227
I’m on the latest WordPress and all my other plug-ins are up to date. Any ideas?
Best,
Jozef

Looks like your host is on a pretty old version of PHP. I would recommend you urge them to update to something newer and supported.
With that said…
I’ll push out an update 8.2.1 which should fix this for you. My apologies I did not catch this. I had to set my dev version of PHP to an even older version than what I was using.

GuestHello,
Many thanks for coming out with 8.2.1 so quickly. I deleted the entire Connections folder after getting the error message. I’ve now installed 8.2.1. Is there a way to FTP the entry information without touching the core files? Otherwise I’ll have to start over.
Thanks,

I’m completely lost on what you mean by; “*FTP the entry information without touching the core files? *”, sorry. Could you explain further?

GuestHi Steven,
After I did the update to 8.2, I noticed the error message and wasn’t able to view any pages on the website. I copied the plugin folder via FTP to my computer and then deleted it from the server. This step helped restore the website.
I installed and activated 8.2.1 and now would like to add the entries that I have already created. Where are the entries stored and is it possible to use FTP to add them? Hopefully I won’t have to start over with each entry.
I appreciate all the help and in such a timely manner.
Thanks!

The data is stored in the db, this error would not have affected your data in any way so it is still there.
