I installed the bugfix release (still says 8.1.1, just so you know).
Tested PNG/s, GIF/s, images with uppercase extensions and deleting entries. All worked as it should. I don’t think you were experiencing any other bugs. Let me know if I missed something.
When you see the update notification for 8.1.2, it will be safe for you to update as it will be the same code just with an updated version number that is already on your site.
