ParticipantHello,
We have used Connections plugin (version 8.1.5) and now we want to export all data including the images and import them to the latest version.
We successfully exported the CSV file and we have the data, But not the images? How can we export the images and import both the CSV file and images into the latest version of Connections plugin.
Thanks

ParticipantHi Again,
We are doing test to import just 5 rows of data, we added biography column and some text is been added into each consultant … but it seems to not import the CSV if biography column is filled.
Why is that ?
We have purchased the pro pack.

It was not until version 8.6.12 that the export of the photo and logo image URLs were included in the exported CSV file. You will have to upgrade from 8.1.5.
RE: it seems to not import the CSV if biography column is filled.
I such instances the issue in nearly always that the CSV file is not valid and does not meet the CSV file requirements.
Review the requirements and ensure your file does meet them. If it appear to, please arratch it, as a private reply, and I’ll take a look.

ParticipantHi Steven,

The CSV file from the import CSV pro-pack add on we purchased yesterday. The biography header exist in the CSV, but when we add some text to it, it doesn’t seem to import any of the data.
I look forward to hearing from you.

RE: Still couldn’t figure out how to export the images from version 8.1.5.
Because you can’t. I am sorry if my last reply was not clear! It was not until version 8.6.12 that is was possible to export the photo and logo image URLs.

The CSV file could still not be valid, per the requirements.
Please attach it, as a private reply, and I’ll take a look.

RE: What do you think the best way to import the images ?
You’ll have to update the site which is running the old version of Connections, then do the CSV Export. The resulting file will have the logo and photo image URL which can be imported into the new site.
RE: I’ve attached a sample CSV of only 5 records which I have been using to test import only 5 records for now.
Ok, the file looks fine. I imported on my dev site and it imported with the bio.
PLease create a temp admin login with this plugin:

When I copy the URL for the image and paste into a browser, the server response is, 404 Not Found. So, I suspect when the import is occurring, it can not fetch the image because it can not be found.
The CSV Import uses standard core WP media functions to fetch the image, for those to function, the image must be accessible. Either the images are not in the path the URL says they are supposed to be or they are server retractions in place that prevent access to the folder. That’s where I would start looking.
Hope this helps!
