We are unable to limit excerpt length even after placing the shortcode “[connections template="circled" excerpt_length=100]” in the page and also it takes much time to load the page as we have 800 entries. can you let me know how to fix it.

Which site? I looked at this page and it seems to be limited.

You need to enable pagination in Circled. This is not a Connections bug or limitation, you would also experience slow load times if you tried to load 800 WordPress post on a single page too.

What is the exact shortcode you are using on the page.? Make sure to switch to the “Text” tab on the WordPress page editor. What you see may not actually be what is there.

I suspect you have a bad shortcode, HTML mixed in it. That can break the WordPress shortcode parsing causing option you add to to be properly read by WordPress so it is unable to send Connections the correct values.

Let me know what you learn.

No, that is not correct. I made an adjustment, this should now be corrected. Let me know.

No, the license activate only affect support and the ability to receive updates. No functionality is impaired.

Now, what “Login Feature” are you having trouble with? Did you ensure that you enabled the option to require a login to view the directory on the Connections : Settings admin page?

And this shortcode is in the content area below.

We have your login plugin installed and activated.

We can see the Login and Entries if we are not logged in. If we are logged in we see only the directory.

Can’t get Search to show either if we are using the Circled Template.

I disabled “Enable private_override” they had this checked. Now we see the login form, but it is duplicated.

I found out that we have to remove the LOGIN shortcode from our page and it works properly.

The only thing remaining is the SEARCH function. I’m guessing you are going to tell me that is not available with the Circled Template. I hope not.

If that is the case what template has the SEARCH function available.

All the premium templates include search, just some, the design focus is for small team directories so in that scenario search does not really make sense. The doc page for Circled covers how to enable the search feature.
