ParticipantHi Steven,
I am working with a theme in WordPress and I have installed the Connections plugin with the enhanced Category plugin.
I have 3 category levels (classification depth). Once you get to the third level you select the last category item and you should get on a new page the corresponding entry list. Finally, you should be able to access the details page of the chosen list entry.
I have created 5 page templates in my theme to display each of the search steps. I was able to display the top category on mytheme page 1. The subcategories (level 2) are displayed on mytheme page 2 using [connections_categories child_of=2 home_id=288].
How can I redirect the next search results to the remaining mytheme template pages with simple code?
Thank you, Sylvie

You do not need to create multiple pages and you do not need to use the shortcode. I recommend using a single page directory for the best experience.
- Create a single page with only the
[connections]
shortcode. - Navigate to the Connections : Settings admin page, click the Display tab and scroll to the Categories section.
- Enable the
Display
option. - Enable the
Display Children
option. - Change the
Display Style
toImage Grid
.
With this configuration only the top level categories will be display as an image grid above the directory.
Upon clicking a category, the page will refresh displaying only the children categories of the parent that was clicked with the directory results filtered by the chosen category.
Hope this helps!

ParticipantHi Steven, thank you for your reply.
The reason why I want multiple pages is that I need to display the image grid on the center, and a ‘connections widget’ on the side bar showing the entries of the image grid as a list. I need this, because at one point (level 2) we have a lot of categories to display (about 40).
Is there a way to align results in the widget to what gets displayed in the image grid if we use a single page?
Thank you,

I’m not sure of what you mean by widget in this context. Could you give me more details?
Thanks

ParticipantHi Steven,
I guess this is my mistake. In the connection categories widget I set a parent for the lower levels, which I guess is not necessary. Unfortunately, trying to fix the issue with the list below the categories image grid broke the page starting from level 2. When it is fixed I will test again.
Thank you for being so responsive, your support level is excellent. Thank you in advance for your patience, Sylvie - Create a single page with only the
