Right, if you are using the category widget and enhanced categories, you should disable the category dropdown so they do not conflict. I am working on a solution which will redirect the category query ( ex.
?cn-cat=27) so they will internally redirect to the category permalink automatically.

Have removed the dropdown for now, but yes sure would be nice to be able to have a category navigation that would work with both the template and the Enhanced category image GRID11/15/2018 at 5:40 pm #477152

Navigate to the Connections Settings admin page and click the Display tab. Near the top you will find an option to display the category list with a few configuration options. These options are added by Enhanced Categories and are compatible with its and the Widget Packs permalinks.

Would you ever consider making the connections:categories widget utilize a dropdown selection? As the permalink structure of choice selection works in conjunction with both the Gridder template and Enhanced Categories.
can use the added widget shortcode to navigate just fine. would be nice to have a dropdown option as well as list option.
just a thought.

Sorry, no as dropdowns do not support permalinks which is why it uses the query string instead. Using permalinks offer improved SEO (in theory, according to SEO experts). This is why both the Category widget and Enhanced categories utilize them instead. In your case I would recommend navigating to the Connections Settings admin page and click the Display tab. Scroll to the Category section and enable the option to display the categories above the directory and then adjust the display options to suit.

Okay, so yes if i do as suggested… which on my default vendor page and is showing Enhanced categories as a Display list to use as navigation above results.
Is there a shortcode command that can force and override and display the GRID structure on my home page?

Sorry, no, there is not a way to override the display style. What you could do is add the Category Widget to the Connections Sidebar on the WP Widgets admin page. You would then configure the widget as desired. After you click the Save button you will be supplied with a shortcode for that widget which you can use on the home page.
HOpe that helps!
