ParticipantI’m testing contact on my record and the email is delivered to me okay. The email header shows from:[whatever was entered] <email address that was entered>. There is no separate Reply to: shown in the header. Yet when I do reply it is not addressed to the from: rather it is addressed from me to me. Am I explaining that well enough? It seems confusing when I read it back.

Is that entry you are testing with… is that entry using your email address? If it is, that would explain why it would be “from me to me”.

Ok, that is exactly what should happen. Now… are these emails being received in Gmail and does Gmail know both of these addresses are yours via an alias that was setup in Gmail or an account that has been linked to Gmail? I ask because Gmail will helpfully change the reply to address. More about it at this link make sure to read the link that that person gave too.

ParticipantUnselected “treat as an alias” for that address and problem solved. Thanks Gmail. Good thing I’ve been working with computers for 30 years. This kind of stuff would drive me out of my mind otherwise. :)

I discovered this “feature” when testing Contact before releasing it. It was quite frustrating until I realized that the only time it happened was when I was using my Gmail link accounts.
Good to hear this is all fixed up for you now!
