ParticipantThe email log shows a status of successful delivery but the email does not make it through to the user’s inbox. Do you have any thoughts as to where the conflict might be?
Thank you

IF it is showing up in the logs, then that means as far as WordPress is concerned, it was sent successfully. The reason for not receiving it can range from the web host did actually send it to it was filtered as spam by the email provider.
I have not used it myself, but in the circumstanses I have been recommending the Postman plugin. I suggest giving it a try. One thing, the Connections email might not show up in its logs. I had to add filters to look for other email logging plugins and specifically add support for them. I have yet done this for Postman. Just want to let you know incase you see them in Connections logs but not Postman logs.
Hope that helps, let me know.

ParticipantThanks Steve. I should have mentioned that it did not go to junk mail. I spoke to my host’s technical support and they said that the originating email address is incorrect. It is trying to send from [mydomain].com instead of [username]@[mydomain].com. If you can let me know where it is collecting my domain email address and there is a way for me to correct that I would like to try that first. My application is pretty simple and Postman seems to be more than I need. I am also a little plugin heavy and want to try to install only what I absolutely need.

The from email address comes from the Contact form what every you enter into the “Email address:” field and the to email address comes from the email address that was added to the entry (the preferred if one set as preferred OR the first if more than one if preferred was not set, in that order). NOt sure that is what they are talking about though :/ Try checking the email address set on the WordPress General Settings admin page.
If the email address are correct in all three locations then another plugin or theme is causing a conflict by removing the username from the email address.

Great to hear! How do you like Postman? I’ve never actually used it though I am thinking about switching to it. I use SendGrid (awesome service!!!) to send all my transactional emails. I see Postman supports it now and I would like the extra functionality it offers over SendGrid’s basic plugin.

ParticipantAs you could tell I was a little intimidated by it because it is way more functionality than I though I needed but it was easy to set up. The only setup that worked for me was the Gmail API which was not my preference but no other approach worked. Emails therefore originate from Gmail which is not ideal but is fine. I must say the one advantage it has is that it offers may different options. I am glad to be up and running. Testing so far has been good. I will let you know if I run into any difficulties.

I recommend using SendGrid, it’ll be free if you send under 12,000 emails a month. This site uses nowhere no that limit (about half and growing). I would pay a reasonable fee now for the service, if I could!
When using SendGrid, it can be setup so it appears to come from your own domain. Notice mine are sent by
email.connections-pro.com. You can also setup SPF and DKIM signing in SendGrid that was your email is far less likely to be filtered as spam. They make that very easy to do. -
