    Hi Stephen

    In which file on the back end do I edit the name of the fields ie: Home?

    Also, is it possible to remove some of the field words completely. See on this page where I have created dummy listings.

    Yes, see this QuickTip. Since you’re using cMap, this FAQ will also be of great help. The complete list of options for cMap that the FAQ refers to can be found on this page.

    To remove the link label, you can use this shortcode:
    [connections link_format="%title%"]

    I am wanting to create 2 new fields now like so…
    Genre: Jazz
    Category: Brass

    Do I use custom fields for this? I searched for info on that and came across a video which confused me greatly. Do you have a link to any simple explanations on how to create custom fields?

    Actually this is quite complex and there is no point and click interface to create these fields yet. Unless you very adept at creating plugins for WordPress the only real easy option is to work this into your category structure, sorry.

    Hmmm, I was trying to remove the titles as well but [connections link_format='%title%'] doesn’t work for me. The page is: http://ex1.thesmallbusinessfactory.net/preferred-vendors/. Any ideas?

    Sorry, but that shortcode will only work with the premium templates. It will not work with any of the default templates.

    Ok. I am considering upgrading but I want to make sure my other questions are answered first. In the meantime, can you tell us in which php file we can change the field titles? Thanks!

    Which field titles exactly? I ask because there are two methods one for template specific strings and another for any core strings. The core strings can be changed using the method outlined in this QuickTip. Template specific strings are done with shortcode options. The list of all template specific shortcode options can be found on the Customization Options page under each template.

    I thought the shortcode options only work with the premium templates? I’m with Cara-Dee in that I don’t want any field names at all for some of them so I wanted to take out the whole field in the php. Unless your quicktip thing would take an empty field (and not using a space as that would throw off the alignment)?

    Also, there is an extra space in front of Contact that I would like to get rid of.
