ParticipantHi there,
For some unknown reason, the dropdown Search “Select a location” have stopped working. Nothing happens when you click on it, it is supposed to list all the regions. We thought the issue was an update so we renewed to be able to do updates but it didnt fix the issue.

Can you please help solve that issue?
Thanks,
Celia

Can you please try force clearing the W3TC page cache?

ParticipantHi Steven,
I have cleared all the caches multiple time and have even deactivated w3 cache but nothing changed and i do not believe to be the issue.
Could you please take a look?
Thanks
Celia

RE: I have cleared all the caches multiple time and have even deactivated w3 cache but nothing changed and i do not believe to be the issue.
Thanks! Both W3TC and WP Super Cache can be flaky at times (imo) so when I see them the first thing I have to ask is to flush/clear the cache. Many times that is all that is required because old files are being served from the cache.
RE: Could you please take a look?
Of course… Since it use to work…
- What changes have been made? Theme update, plugin updates (that are not Connections related?
- Scour the theme settings and look for any setting which looks like it may affect select drop downs and turn it off to see if that makes a difference.
- Please try the conflict checks:
Please let me know what you learn!

ParticipantHi Steven,
thank you.
The conflict comes from the theme. What are my options in trying to solve that issue ?
Would you have an idea where to look?
Thank you
Celia

Which theme are you running and which version? I suspect it has a feature to enhance select drop downs. The category drop down in Connections already uses a library to enhance it (that is how it is searchable).
The couple times I’ve run into this in the past is that there was a setting within the theme to turn off its enhancement of drop downs or a way to exclude specific drop downs by ID.
If you do not see such an option, perhaps the theme’s support people can point you to where the option is or a way to exclude applying their library to all drop downs.
Let me know what you learn.

ParticipantThank you for the info
The theme is Jupiter (Version 6.1.1.) by Artbees.
Maybe you’ve had someone on this theme having the issue ?

After a quick search I found two other users who use Jupiter:
- https://connections-pro.com/support/topic/state-fields-not-populating/
Neither of these users had the issue you’re encountering.
I spent more time looking at your site… it seems there is a whole section of custom CSS code. I copied pasted it here for reference.
If I remove that code by live editing it in Chrome, the drop down works just fine… So, you’ll have to review this custom CSS code and tweak it so it does not break the drop down. Hope that helps!
