ParticipantHello Steven,
I think I have a problem with the linking of accounts. I say think because this may be by design.
I follow these steps:
1. Make an account in Connections
2. Make a WordPress account
3. Login as the user
The user is linked. The filled information is transferred to the connections account. Only now, in Connections, there are two the same email addresses. So it looks like the two accounts are being merged and the two email addresses are being seen as two entities (what they are technically spoken).
The only way to get rid of the email address now is to manually delete it, since I need the two e-email addresses to make the connection. But the manual deleting is not a desirable ‘workaround’.
Is this behavior by design or can you help me with this?03/15/2013 at 11:10 am #254201Steven Zahm
KeymasterNo, this is not by design and I can’t replicate this. Can I get a temp admin account?
Oh, I removed the comments, just now, since this is a better place to have this discussion.

KeymasterOk, I can reproduce now … now just to figure out why and fix it.

KeymasterOk, after spending a better part of an afternoon pounding my head against my desk I figured it out and fixed it. I’m going to be releasing version 0.7.6.2 this evening that contains the fix. I’m going to mark this as resolved. Please let me know if the new version fixes it or now for you.

ParticipantHello Steven,
Thank you! I will try it out as soon as the plugin says there is an update available, and will let you know.

KeymasterSorry, I had to pull back the update, the change actually caused data lose when making multiple edits. So I’m re-opening the issue … hopefully I can come up with a solution today.

KeymasterWould you be willing to try a beta copy of Link that includes the fix? I was hoping I could roll the fix into Connections, but that’s just not going to work.

ParticipantYes I would do that. Can I find the beta copy myself of do you need to send me a link?

KeymasterI just sent it to your email address.
