It seems you have it setup correctly … can I have a temp admin account so I can take a closer look. Permissions issue are extremely difficult to try down without access.

I visited … nothing I seems to do fixes the issue. Everything appears to be correct. All the roles have the correct capabilities, yet, it appears only admin roles can add/edit entries. You only have a few plugins installed, but could you deactivate all plugins except Connections and Link to see if the issue persists? Another thought, did you perhaps make any alterations to say maybe the
wp-config.php
file or anywhere else that limits the access to the admin in any way?12/18/2013 at 11:55 am #275607Vincent Turner
ParticipantHi Steven
thanks for jumping in, I thought I had it all right!
def made no changes to wp-config so I’ll do what you say with trying other plugins and let you know how I go
might have another entry for the plugin conflicts page!
back to you shortly
thanks!

ParticipantHave deactivated every single plugin but the two related to connections
have deleted and re-added the user I am testing with (vinaetest)
and still not working
I can give you whatever access you want to this site to work this out
thoughts?

Ok, one more thing to try, while the other plugins are deactivated, please switch back to the default theme and give it a try. It is hard to imagine that being the issue, but we do have to eliminate it as a possible cause.

Guest<sigh> – yes, thats the issue
Seems like Connections and Directory dont play nicely together :(
their member directory tools arent as good as yours.. guess I’m just going to have to use theirs unless you think you can find/solve the bug?
I’m happy to give you full access to my environment to trouble shoot etc
let me know what you think
thanks!

Really, it the theme!?!
Huh, I wouldn’t have guessed that.
I logged back in to see if I could find any type of settings for user restrictions … I don’t want to play around turning stuff off and on without you knowing first … so, go ahead and try deactivating the User registration/Login Management Addon. It’s the only settings thing I can see that “might” be the conflict.
