GuestI would like my directory listing page to the the “names” template, and when you click on the staff member it take you to the profile template. I thought that I could enter [connections template="names"] on my directory page, select the “profile” template as my active template, and then click the “Disaplay a single entry using the active template based on entry type” checkbox under Settings, but this does not work. When I click on the name in the directory page it just takes me to another similar page using the “names” template again.
What settings am I missing? Thanks in advance!

Using the
templateshortcode option will override the settings. That said… remove that option from the shortcode.
Go to the Connections : Templates admin page and active the Names template under the
Alltemplate type.Now click the
Individualtemplate type (link upper left) and activate the desired template. Do the same for theOrganizationtemplate type.Lastly, go to the Connections : Settings admin page and click the Display tab and enable the Single Entry Template option.
That’ll do the trick.
Hope that helps!

GuestFantastic description. Worked perfectly.
The next slight issue is I am trying to show a list of the categories at the top of the directory along with the alphabetical list that I was able to show through options in Character Index. Is this a checkbox somewhere?
All my thanks

Sorry, no checkbox for that. There are templates available here to allow the user to filter by their selected category so long lists of categories do not need to be displayed.

GuestHi Jason,
first of all thanks for a great plugin and for publishing it under GPL 2.0.Now my question you describe above how to have one template for “All” and another for “Individual” and “Organization”. Now I try to have the “card” for all, so that a list of entries shows a short form of data. And the Bio-card for the org (I only have org entries). However, when I do that I see the full bio text in the list and that is not desired.
Any idea what I could do?

After you activate your desired templates, make sure you go to the Connections : Settings admin page and enable the Single Entry Template option under the Display tab.
Hoe that helps!
