Can Connections Pro be setup to in a way where all business directory listings are grouped in there respective City, State/Province, Country?

Also the search directory feature would need to have a customs search where a user could select City, State/Province, Country  Would this be possible?

Looks like a great plugin, but I need directory listings by city/state/country. Any chance of this being added in a near term version?

If you mean sorted by city/state/country, check out the order_by shortcode option.

Also, new in version 0.7.8 is the ability to turn portions of the address, like city/state/country into links and when a user clicks those links, the results will be filtered by the city/state/country the user clicked.

Others have created a “Featured” category and assigned those featured entries to that category. They then placed a new shortcode on the same page limiting it to displaying only the “Featured” category using the category shortcode option. To make sure the featured category shortcode results are locked, add lock=true to the shortcode.

I am looking for a SIMPLE and very reliable directory to list hotels grouped by area, state or province.

Can this be done and if not, any plans to implement and when?

Connections does not have built in method to group entries. It’s on the to do list but I can not commit as to when it’ll be implemented. Honestly, I’m not certain how truly use that is because grouping just is not effective for large directories. For a few dozen that’ll all be listed on the same page yes, that could be useful.

What can be done now and works very well and you can use without making a purchase is enable the region linking features. These can be enable on the Connections : Settings admin page. Enable the postal code, region and locality linking options.

With these enable, those parts of the address will now be shown as links and when a user click on one of those links, the results will be filtered by the region clicked. You can copy these links and add them to you menus and or widgets.
