ParticipantHi,
I have just recently purchased the cMap template. I have installed and activated the template using the instructions and everything went smoothly. I have the [connections] shortcode typed on my directory page and the cMap directory shows with all of my contacts. But when I go to the Connections: Template panel and click the customize button for the cMap template, it always takes me to the home page of my website, and not the page that my [connections] shortcode is on. I have triple checked in the Connections: Settings panel that the page where the shortcode is typed is correct. The page is public and published. Need help. Thanks

ParticipantAlso I’ve looked and followed every step in this thread carefully as it is similar to my problem. But still I cannot get to my page that has the directory and customize it.

Did you set the directory home page to the page with the
[connections]shortcode on it?12/07/2015 at 1:22 pm #357223Joel Brown
ParticipantYes I did. To me everything looks like it is set up totally right. The only thing I can think of is that this is a church website and we use sharefaith. Share Faith has some of its own over lays on top of the WordPress so I don’t know if this would affect anything.

I suppose that is possible. It depends on how they may have altered WP to meet their needs. I’d need a temp WP admin login to take a look.

ParticipantOkay how do you want me to give you the login?

Unfortunately it seems their frontend editor overlay seems to take over the core WP Customizer API (or blocks its usage) which is what Connections uses for its Template Customizer. I highly doubt there’s anything I can do about this because this really isn’t “stock” WP. You’ll have to ask Sharefaith support if there is a way to get back to the core WP Customizer rather than using their frontend editor overlay. I do have the feeling since they are a managed WP service there is not going to be a way to do this. I imagine you’re going to run across other such limitations since core WP is slowing moving towards using the Customizer as the definite way to customize a site.
Luckily, much of what can be done using the Template Customizer can also be done with shortcode options. See this section of the cMap doc page:

Hope that helps!

ParticipantI understand. I will get with sharefaith support and see if they can do anything. In the mean time I will send what I can do with the short code stuff.
Thanks for your timely support and BTW I do love your plugin. Simple and clean.
