ParticipantHi Steven,
First, I apologize if the cMap forum is not the correct location for this post.
I have been asked to provide a list of all of our county office addresses. So, essentially I need to query all addresses that are associated with the category name of “County Extension Office” or the slug “county-extension-office”. If I log into the DB or access it using phpMyAdmin, it seems like I should be able to access this info with an SQL statement. Basically, something like this pseudocode:
SELECT addresses.[1-3], categories.* FROM addresses, categories WHERE categories.slug = “county-extension-office”
I’m not quite sure how to make this work because I am not seeing what links the slug or category to the person. I’ve started writing the SQL statement but didn’t want to post it in a public forum for all to see the database field names, so I’ll post a subsequent message and make it private (I don’t see the private option for this initial post). Please let me know if you are able to help me finish this SQL statement, or if this reaches beyond the scope of support that you are able to provide. Thanks so much in advance!

Keymaster@ Darrin
Well, you should not select based on slugs, those can change. You should select on id and joined tables by entry_id. The entry_id is how the data is linked.
What I suggest, install the Query Monitor plugin. Then create a page, add the Connections shortcode to it and limit it to the “county-extension-office” by ID category.
The shortcode would look like this:
[connections category=X]Xwould equal the category ID for the “county-extension-office” category.Use Query Monitor inspect the queries created by Connections. You’ll find the queries used to create a list of entries limited by category. You should be able to copy/past and alter as needed.
Let me know if that helps.
