ParticipantWe have existing users on our WP site. Imported over 300 directory entries (from our old directory). None of the imported Directory listings are connected to the User.
How can we fix this? So far no one can edit their directory listing and some are creating duplicates (creating a new entry because they can’t edit the original).

Make sure the Link extension is activated. Navigate to the Connections Settings admin page and click the Display tab.
Scroll to the Result List Actions section. Enable the “View My Directory Entry” action link and “Edit my Directory Entry” entry action.
Scroll down to the Entry Actions section. Enable the “Edit My Directory Entry” action.
For more detailed instructions with screenshots, please see the Link configuration instructions.
Do not enable the “Submit New Entry” in the Result List actions as covered in the Form configuration. Leaving this option enable will allow user to submit unlimited number of entries. This is a feature, not a bug, which many users do utilize. I suspect this is how you are getting duplicates.
NOTE: The only way for a WP User to be linked to a Connections entry is if the WP User email address matches, exactly, the email address in the Connections entry they should be linked to. If there is no match, they will not be linked and instead will be able to submit their own linked entry. This also could cause a perceived duplicate.
NOTE: Linking the WP User with a Connections Entry only occurs when the user logs in. Not before.
Hope this helps!

ParticipantMost have not logged in – thanks for explaining they won’t be linked until they log in.
I had LINK activated.
I did not activate “Submit new entry”
These were my settings:
