ParticipantHi – I purchased the CSV Import for the Connections Plugin and I use this for a Vendor List of Organizations. I am not seeing a field in the sample CSV file that tells whether its an Individual, Organization, etc. I want to import Organizations only and set the necessary columns needed.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance!

Two options.
Add a column and name it, entry_type, and set the value to organization.
OR
Just map the org name to the Organization field with no first and last name mapping and the import will default to the org entry type.
Hope that helps.

ParticipantHi
I have Excerpt Plus and CVS and have been reading the forum so I have been able to easily put all my categories in with CVS as well as the basic stuff like name, address, etc (thanks all :)!) but I have 175 members that I have to enter, including Bios and they each have multiple categories assigned to them – some as many as 12 or more. I would like to be able to load all their details into one CVS file including categories for each one and have those resolve to their names. Have tried everything I can think of.When I do it all the details go where they should but no categories are assigned to them so I have to do that manually. Is there any way to code the excel file to get it to do that?
Many thanks02/04/2014 at 4:52 pm #279105Diane Dunlop
ParticipantOh also is it possible to get three search boxes, so that people can search by “Area of Practice” or “Commodity” or “Regional Experience” so they don’t have to scroll through the very long list of categories – or can they only do that by keyword? Thanks

So doing this, is not working for you? If not, could I get a copy of your CSV file so I can see if I can replicate the issue? It can be attached here as a private reply.
There’s no built in way to create multiple drop downs for, I’m guessing, multiple categories. That is something that would need custom developed for you. If you would like to pursue that option, I do have a dev I can recommend. Just let me know and I’ll have him get in touch with you.

GuestHi Steven, Thanks I have got the categories in. Big job! but what I did was put them all on the same level and then went through and assigned parent categories to each one. I would be interested in finding out the cost to get the multiple drop downs custom developed so if he could get in touch that would be great. I have just posted on Excerpt Plus as I am unsure if I am using the right template for what I need. If I am not I would be happy to pay for the right one.

ParticipantHi Diane,
I’ve done custom drop-down and search filtering for a number of Steve’s customers. I can help you with this. Send me an email at joshua.kornreich@gmail.com.
