ParticipantHello,
Can I either create a button to add entry, or can I create a “registration landing page” that I direct people too. Ideally I’d love to create a registration page with a button on it so that I can direct people to submit entries through a sidebar widget. I tried to use the link extension to create a “landing page” for submitting an entry in the directory but that didn’t work since I don’t want people to have to register on the site to be added to the directory. Thoughts?

This is possible, but in doing so, the submitor will be able to submit as many entries as they would like, all submissions would have to be moderated and submitor will not be “linked” to the submission so they will not be able to maintain it.
To do this, follow the Form instructions for adding the “Submit Entry” link.
The navigate to your directory page, copy the URL for the submit entry link.
You can use this URL on your landing page.
You can turn off the submit entry link if you do not want it above the directory.
Hope this helps!

ParticipantOk so I worked on this last night and what I discovered is that when I copied the URL after clicking the submit entry link I was able to use it on a “submission” landing page by linking it to a button I created. The link essentially takes you back to the directory page with the submission form on it though, so all the instructions I had on the “landing page” went away. Is there a short code for the submission “form” that could be inserted into a landing page? I’m basically trying to find a work around for not being able to have instructions specific to our industry for people filling out the form, which fields they need to fill out, how to choose categories etc.

Perhaps put the instructions in the Form configuration area instead of on the page?
Navigate to the Connections : Settings page and click the Form tab.
Under the Configuration section you will find two content areas, “Content Before” and “Content After”. This will give you the ability to show custom text and such before and after the display of the form.
You could place your instructions in these areas.
Does that help you out?
