Hi Steve,

I am hoping to be able to create a HTML anchor link within a Connections Pro listing using the Slim Plus Template.

I wish to have a link from a display ad to goto a specific Connections Listing on a page (there may be 10+ other listings on the page that I am targeting).

Normally I could use a html anchor like..

<a id="C4">S</a>

and target with

<a href="#C4">See also Chapter 4.</a>

However I cannot get html code in ‘high enough’ on the listing.

I can do it by putting the code in the Bio section but that is too far ‘down’ the page.

Is there any way that I can put some html code <a id="C4">S</a> in a Connections Field that is higher up in the listing, preferably right near the begining of the listing.

Please advise.

not sure I follow completely … I read this a couple times. Initially it looks like you are asking how you could link to a specific entry within Connections from an ad. If that is the case you have two options:

domain.tld/directory-home-page/name/jane-doe/
domain.tld/directory-home-page/#jane-doe

But if I read further, it sounds like you want to link from an entry in Connections to an ad? If that is the case … no matter the template in use, the only fields that support HTML are the bio and notes fields. So in the case of Slim Plus, the bio field is the “highest” up you can get. So the only option would to alter the code of the template to hard code the links you need. Not sure that would really work or not…

You were right with your first comment as I would like to link to a specific entry within Connections on a specific page from an ad.

What I am trying to do is have a link in an ad that when clicked will goto the Connections entries page and actually show the page at at the top of a specific Connections entry.

I can achieve this by placing an HTML Anchor in the BIO section, but as this is towards the bottom of the Connections entry it only shows half the entry and other entries below look more prominent which is not what the advertiser wants.

But I cannot see how to make these links work without an Anchor in the Connections entry which can only really be in the Bio field with the problems mentioned above?

I am just hoping that I have missed something and that you do see a different way that will work for me.

The direct link to Marks & Gardner Gallery at Secret Garden would be:

The link to the position which Marks & Gardner Gallery at Secret Garden is in the list would be:

Seeing as your directory page is listed in random order, limited 15 entries and the entries are not always listed on the page; I suggest using the direct link method.

You do not need to add anything to the entry, these anchors are already in place so the can be used. You only need to add the links to your ads.
