I have connections pro cmap running here – http://www.flutetutor.com.au/tuition-directory/find-a-teacher/

the shortcode I am using is:  [connections page_limit=25 width=900 connections order_by='State|SORT_ACS,state|SORT_ACS,city' show_empty_categories='false' show_category_count='true' str_cell_phone='Phone' str_personal_email='Email' str_title='Qualifications' enable_map='false' str_home_addr='Location' addr_format='%label% %city%, %state%, %country% %line1%'connections category='2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12' enable_category_by_root_parent=true]

My dilema is that I want to use connections to show lists in 2 places which share location categories but which are separated based on a role category… that is, if they are listed as being in the category role/flute teacher then they should appear on the above page but if they are listed as being in the category role/accompanist then they should appear on a similar page which is to be our accompanist directory (http://www.flutetutor.com.au/find-an-accompanist/ ‎)…

I hope this makes sense?  I tried achieving this by using lists (loading teachers as individuals and accompanists as organizations) however I really need to list everyone as an individual as the organisation layout isn’t appropriate…

Hmmm…

Try adding the category_in shortcode option to your shortcode. So if teachers are category 20, you would add: category_in=20 and if accompanists are in category 30, you would add: category_in=30

I think that should do it. Let me know.

I think this is what i’ve been trying to achieve and after trying many variations of categoryXXXX shortcode entries i’m not really getting anywhere.

I’ve got a page titled coffee roasters and under this I currently have only one state/territory (blog – id4 South Australia) which i’ve done here Now i wish to add more states (which will be blog posts) under the coffee roasters page but it needs to show everything (panels and category dropdown) relevant to the roasters in that state.

In my categories I have:
Australia id3
– South Australia id4
– Victoria id15
2 Star rating id11
3 star rating id12
etc…

I currently use this in my first post
[connections category='2,3,4,5,6,7,8,10,11,12,13,14' str_home_addr="Location" str_home_phone="Phone" addr_format="%label% %line1% %line2% %city%, %state% %zipcode% %country%" str_work_email="Email" str_bio_hide="Close Notes" str_bio_show="Show Notes" str_bio_head="" map_frame_height=300 page_limit=20 str_personal_email="Email"]

Is this possible?
