ParticipantI have new registrations set up to be contributors. In the Roles section of Admin, I have the following checked for Contributors:
Add Entry,
Add Entry Moderated,
Edit Entry,
Edit Entry Moderated,
Delete Entry,
View Private Entries,
View Unlisted Entries,
Edit Categories.Contributors are finding that they are able to Add entries, but when they want to Edit entries they are not always able to do so. (As an Editor, I am not having any issues). The “Show Edit Entry Link” checkbox is enabled under Settings->Display, but does not always appear for the users.
I created an additional Contributor account and cannot see the Edit Entry link, while others with the same rights can.
When bypassing by adding /edit/ to the URL, they can be met with the error message “You are not authorized to edit entries. Please contact the admin if you received this message in error.” from the class.shortcodes.php file.
I am using Form and cMap.

Well, the first thing I see, is you should assigned either
Add Entry
orAdd Entry Moderated
, not both. After some quick testing… you also need to add the
View List (Manage)
capability too. That not entirely intuitive, but that edit link when Form is not installed/active would go to the admin page instead. Form changes the link destination, but still has to pass the same capability checks. Technically if they knew the exact admin page URL they could get to and view the mage admin page even though the link is hidden because they do not have theView Admin Menu
capability but there is not anything that can’t already do in the frontend with Form (less actually) so I don’t really see that as an issue.Any way, hope that helps!

ParticipantYes. Looks like that has worked (according to the user reporting the issue). Thank you!

ParticipantJust as a side point, I did new installation of Connections on another server to test the new release and found that both Add Entry and Add Entry Moderated are checked by default. Perhaps the default install should have one on but not the other, or make it a switch button perhaps.
