GuestHi there! After the recent update, the blog page on our website does not load – it times out with a 502 error. All other pages seem to be working fine besides the blog page. When I disable the Connections Business Directory plugin, the blog page loads. Enabled, it doesn’t. How do I fix this? Would love to have your plugin and my blog page working. Thank you.

The possible cause is it might be likely that the resources allocated to PHP are close to their limits. And, it just happens that deactivating Connections keeps you below those limits. PLease try the following:
- How do I increase the PHP Execution Limit?
- How do I increase the WordPress Memory Limit?](https://connections-pro.com/faqs/increase-wordpress-memory-limit/)
Also, check with your web host and ask which version of PHP is running. WordPress recommends PHP 7.1 because it it much faster and far more resource efficient which makes your site run faster.
Hope this helps, let me know.

GuestSpoke with my web host and tried what you suggested. They recommended contacting you again about the plugin. The site works fine when I disable the plugin. I can see a large cache file that I’m unable to clear or figure out how to clear with your plugin. My web host recommended that I use their PHP Compatibility Checker and that even flagged the plugin as a problem as being too large to check. Is there a way to purge the cache for your plugin? I cannot upgrade to 7.0 at this time because of a couple of unknowns, warnings and an error that showed up with the checker. Please advise!

Connections does not have a cache file so I am not exactly sure what you are seeing.
RE: PHP Compatibility Checker and that even flagged the plugin as a problem as being too large to check.
Connections is compatible with PHP 5.3 to PHP 7.1, no need to run the compatibility checker on it. In fact Connections will only load if the environment (PHP and WordPress versions) it is installed on is compatible.

What version of PHP is running? Regardless of the warning notices displayed in the PHP Compatibility Checker I would still recommend updating to PHP 7.1. I suspect you will find that things will run just fine. I do not know about your web host, but upgrading on our host is a matter of choosing a PHP version in the web host control panel. I personally can opt to run 5.3 to 7.1. If your web host provides a similar option, you could chose to run 7.1 and just change the setting back if you find there is an actual issue when running 7.1.
Can you please create a temp admin account using this plugin:
https://wordpress.org/plugins/temporary-login-without-password/
Reply back, as a private reply, with the token login URL. I’d like to see what is on your blog page when Connections is deactivated.

I see nothing obvious… Ifr Can get that login token to the admin so I can take a closer look, that would help.

To the dev site would be ideal that way I can install the Query Monitor debugging plugin.
ps. I do not know what moonray is… but it looks like that adds nearly a full second to the page loading times.
