GuestI know you could translate the Connections Form with Loco Translate, but that make the form ALL Chinese. I want to keep both language versions of the form and switch the language according to which language on the front end is detected.
Is it possible to a Chinese translated version of the form to show when you switch to the Chinese version of my website and have the English version of the form show on the English version of my site?
I am using WPGlobus translation plugin for my site and works similar to Polylang where you have two language versions of your Pages in ONE website and it switches the language which is detected when you use switch the language on the menu.

KeymasterConnections and its addons are translation ready like most other plugins.
There are no Chinese translations available for Connections or Form, so, for them to show in Chinese, the translations need to be created.
I would suggest focusing on the strings that display on the page. Otherwise it would be daunting task. You can use Loco Translate (or POEdit) to search for those particular and translate them. You will only see English until you do.

GuestSteven, I understand that part, I mean after I add Chinese translations, will I be able to have BOTH English form visible for English detected language and Chinese translated form show when detected language is Chinese?
That’s all I need to know, if it works in compatibility with multilanguage switchers like WPGlobus and Polylang

GuestI don’t want to do all the translation work and later find out it doesn’t work compatible with what I want or plugins I am currently using.

GuestActually, I am using the WPGlobus translation plugin at the moment (it works similar to Polylang but not using Polylang)

GuestI started 3% of the Chinese translations in Loco translate already, but I want to confirm if after I integrate the translation PO/MO if I would be able to use the Chinese translations visible ONLY in the detected language and still see the English Connections form in the English detected language for my website.
I don’t want to waste too much effort doing something I know doesn’t work what I was going for.

GuestYes, good advice, I was also thinking about translating only the visible strings, but still would like to confirm if I would be able use BOTH English and Chinese translations of the Connections form on my site.
English Connections form for only the English detected website and Chinese Connections Form for ONLY the Chinese ZH detected language of my website.
I just need a yes or no before I finish off the strings.

KeymasterRE: after I add Chinese translations, will I be able to have BOTH English form visible for English detected language and Chinese translated form show when detected language is Chinese?
It should be, there is nothing special about Connections or its addons in this regard. There are coded to be translation ready … so, if the translation switcher switches the language, it should switch just like any other plugin that is also coded to be translation ready.
You do not need to do all the work to even test this … translate the strings found in the Name metabox. And then test your switcher.
The only thing I can think you might have to investigate is … I do not know how Polylang (or similar) translate category names. You may have to reach out to their support team. If Connections needs a tweak, then that can be done. I’ll just need to know what tweak, if needed, will need done. But, I imagine all fields names and labels will just work.

GuestEven if you use the shortcode [connections_form] for both the English and Chinese language pages, it will automatically use the translations for the form?

GuestOkay, after I translate to Chinese, how do I apply the PO/MO, do I have to send you the translated PO/MO files in order to see the updates?
