Sorry, no it is not 100% compatible. It is on my todo list but I can not commit as to when it’ll be 100% compatible.

GuestHello,
Just to add a voice to this – I too would be interested in compatibility with WPML.
We already use WPML, because we’re obliged to provide a bilingual site.
I wouldn’t be able to start using Connections unless I could do it bilingually.
And it looks like such a great system!
:-)
Any updates on this Steven? Many thanks

ParticipantHi Sorry to bring up an old topic. I am assuming there is no news on WPML support.
In previous posts you mention connections is over 90% compatible. this might be enough for what I need. I am just getting to know WPML. What is the best/easiest way to make connections WPMLable.
I saw something about setting home id in shortcode, or making different versions of entry based on language…
thanks
dom

Sorry, no, no further direct work has been done in order to be WPML compliant. What you would have to do is create language specific versions of each entry and do the same for your category structure then create language specific pages. This is a very oversimplified statement, but, that’s all WPML does (sort of), for the most part. I’ve never done it myself so I can not really give specific advice.

Oh, I’d like to clarify the statement; “no further direct work has been done“. The has been a lot of work that should make this possible vs before.

ParticipantHi for anyone interested I found a plugin that works with wpml and shows translated content based on a shortcode and the page language.
https://wordpress.org/plugins/wpml-short-code-translator/
It can be used anywhere a shortcode can be used (notes and bio only I believe). in other fields ie name it treats the shortcode as text.
[wpml_language language=”en”]your content[/wpml_language] (eg: language=”en” is for english )
this might help people who do not want to duplicate all their contacts.
