GuestI have downloaded and installed Connections for WordPress on a site that I am creating. I am using it for a church directory. I have several questions for you.
1. Is there an easier way to load information for families? The way I understand it is that I first have to create individual entries for each person, then create a family entry and add each person. Is there a way to do it all on one entry?
3. How do the private/public directories work? I want the directory to be available to members only with a sign on. Do I make the entries public or private? In the settings, I checked the Enable private_override box.
4. How do I get a sign on box for the directory? I want the church directory to be private available only to registered users/church members. I didn’t see a widget that I could buy for this. The way I understand it, I shouldn’t be able to see my entry without first signing in, but I can see it. http://66.147.242.83/~pewauke2/?page_id=7
In the end, I would like to have a registration widget that I can put on the front page that says “Register to View Our Church Directory.” Then, I’d like to have the Church Directory page password protected or something.
Any help that you can give me to accomplish this is much appreciated.

Keymaster@ Heather
1. Sorry, no, there is not an all-in-one solution for creating families. The best suggestion I can give is to use the CSV Import extension to import the individuals all at once. Then the only step, would be to create the families.
2. I suggest making the entries private. Private entries will only be visible to users that are logged in. Depending on your role setup and the role your users have, you may have to go to the Connections : Roles admin page and give that role the view private capability. You can then uncheck the private override option.
3. I suggest enabling the require login option under the general tab. You can then use any freely available login form plugin that has a shortcode to add a login form to the login required message.
I hope that helps!
