ParticipantOur directory is not working as it should in Chrome. I have not been able to determine if there is some kind of conflict with another plugin or the theme yet.
I have attached a screen shot of the errors shown through the Chrome Console.
When in Chrome, the dropdown to select a category does not work. And you can click on the search box, type what you want to search, and hit enter. It will search, but you can’t see what you are typing.
Thanks for any assistance you can send my way.

The ERR_CACHE_MISS seems to be just a minor Chrome bug unrelated to Connections:
http://stackoverflow.com/questions/26515991/chrome-err-cache-missThe google not defined error … did you by chance disable the Google Maps API option on the Connections : Settings admin page under the Advanced tabs? If you did, please re-enable it.
As for the other issues you’ve stated … they would not be caused by the errors reported in the Chrome console and without a link to the page with the issue I’d couldn’t even give a guess, sorry. If you can share a link to the page, I’ll take a look.

ParticipantI’m sorry, the link was in the screenshot.

I turned on all of those options in the advanced section today to see if any of them would resolve the issue. I turned them on one at a time and had no luck.
The Core Styles option was already checked. All of the others were off.
Attached is the current settings in that area.

Unfortunately it seems to be something with the theme’s styles.css file and not Connections related at all. One example would be the slider … it’s kind of wonky in Chrome.
I did track down the issue. This CSS statement which starts on line 141 is the cause:
#wrapper-1 { background-color: #FBFBFB; display: block; float: left; position: relative; width: 100%; margin-top:10px; }Specifically that
floatsetting.Try removing that, I think that’ll fix the issues.

ParticipantThanks! I had noticed the Slider issues in Chrome as well. That theme was recently updated, and it seems that DIV got updated to include the float attribute. I removed it and all is well.
Thanks so much for helping me resolve that issue.
We love the Connections plugin, it has made a world of difference for our employee directory page.
I not this is another topic, but I suspect you might have a quick yes or no answer.
We are not using photos of each employee, just our college logo. Is there a way to populate the URL for that photo globally, so we don’t have to browse and select the same photo over and over each time we have a new employee entry?
Thanks again – Brent

Great to hear that solved the problem! took me quite a bit of time to track it down!

Yes, there is, see this QuickTip. It’s more of a CSS trick”ery” than a feature, but is works effectively.Hope that helps!
If you have a moment, I would truly appreciate a review as they really do make a difference! many thanks in advance!
