I cannot find a way to accomplish this: Change the Labels for a Directory, specifically Work to Office, Home to something else, Work Phone to Office Phone, etc. This is critical because I want a Directory of Attorneys and the default Labels really don’t work. My site is a WordPress Network site. I’ve Network installed Say What? but it will only work on one of the underlying sites, the first one. I want to use the Market Template with Link and Form so Attorneys can change their Directory Entry themselves. I’ve tried using the Market shortcodes in [Connections] on the page for the Directory, but this won’t change the Labels in Form. Any suggestions?

Here’s a link to a tutorial which covers how to change the labels and pretty much any other string in Connections (exceptions are extension or template specific strings).

Thanks so much for the quick response. But, is there a way to change the labels in Form without using the plugin Say What? which I just can’t get to work on my multisite set up? I can get the labels changed in displaying the directory with Market using shortcodes but when Form is opened the labels aren’t changed. Thanks.

Sorry, no, Say What has to be used to change these labels. This is the easiest way. There are two other options which are a bit more difficult. Say What should work on multisite. What is the issue?

The first, would be to use filters to change the labels. Filters are basically PHP code snippets.

The second, and not recommended, would be editing the actual PHP code of the plugin.

Say What? works on the main site on my multisite network, but on a sub-site, I can’t get it to work. Whatever I input, when I click Add, it goes back to the list of screen and nothing is listed. Example, on http://www.readthelawga.us, I input Work as Original String, connections for Domain, Office for Replacement and it works. On http://www.readthelawga.us/familylaw/ that won’t work, nothing happens.

It seems you can not network activate Say What?. You must activate it on each subsite. At least that is what I understand by reading this support issue for Say What? plugin.
