ParticipantHi Steven!
Been working on getting the directory set up in Slim Plus with the help of the CSV import and everything is working like a charm except the category drop down. When I try to call up the category options, I’m given a search box in its place. I saw an FAQ tip on your site which recommended downloading the Say What? plug in (which I’ve done). You then advised selecting “add new” in order to “enter the string exactly as shown in Connections, Search.” I’m not sure what you mean by that?
The plug in tool for my current version of WP (the latest) requests the following information:
– Original String
– Text Domain
– Text Context
– Replacement StringWhat should I be putting in each box?
Thank you!

I’m a little confused… are there two questions? It seems like the category filter is not working and you want to change the “Search” string in the keyword search input. Is that correct?
The first issue of the category filter not working, can you share a link to the page with the issue so I can see?
Here are the settings to change the “Search” string in Say What?
– Original String:
Search
– Text Domain:connections
– Text Context: blank
– Replacement String: Whatever you wish it to say.I hope this helps, let me know.

Ok, this is much more clear now! That second search box you are seeing is from the category drop drop, its searchable too. Something is clearly wrong though because that is not the way it should appear.
The Say What? plugin, that is used only to change text within Connections (and other plugins). It will not be able to solve whatever this issue is.
In order to debug this further, I’ll need access to the site. The login details can be posted here as a private reply. A temporary admin account would be the best.

ParticipantI can set you up with that, no problem. I appreciate the help.
What email address shall I use for you?07/18/2016 at 8:30 pm #383302Steven Zahm

Doesn’t matter any made up email will do since it is a temp account that will be deleted. You can use the email address that you receive the forum reply notifications from if you wish.

I logged and took a look. The issue seems to be that the theme set a global style on form div which hide overflow content. The enhanced drop down on Slim Plus “overflowed” and was hidden by that style the theme set. Basically you were only seeing one small part of the drop down instead of all of it.
I installed a custom CSS plugin, JP Custom CSS and added a bit of custom CSS which will unhide the form div in the template.
Apologies for the trouble! Hope this helps!

ParticipantSounds like a fix! So, you’ve done a tweak to the larger theme style, but it’s only been adjusted for the Connections template. The rest of the global style will work on the theme as planned?
I’ll dig right back in and let you know if I have any other issues. Many, many thanks!
