ParticipantI installed the widgets plug in. My problem is that if I change my permalink structure I can get the search widget to work, but the search result that is linked will not work. Also, birthdays and anniversaries will display but not work if the search is working.

KeymasterOk, I’m a little confused. Can you send me a link to your site where you’re having trouble?

ParticipantSadly I can’t send a link. The site is being used as an intranet. When I have WP permalinks set to default :
birthdays and anniversaries will show up correctly and link to the correct corresponding pages.
the connections simple search will return a 404 page not found.
When I change permalinks to numeric, the search will return results but their links will return 404s and the birthday and anniversary widgets return 404s.

KeymasterHmmm, that’s going to make it a little difficult to troubleshoot.
Can you turn permalink back on and install the Rewrite Rules Inspector plugin. Paste the 404 search url into Rewrite Rules Inspector and send me a screen capture of the result.
Also, before a search is executed, view the page source and copy paste it into a test file.
Attached both the screen capture to a private reply. Hopefully they’ll help point me in some direction to give advise.

Participantwhat do you want me to set the permalink to?

KeymasterAny should work fine.
One other question. Is your directory home page the same page you have set for your site’s front page?
