GuestJust installed on a WordPress 3.5.2 site, but I’m being told that the plugin cannot be activated “because it triggered a fatal error.” But that’s all the information it gives. No details.
Help?

Well, this is going to be tough to figure out. I know there are now activation bugs. For me to investigate, I’ll need a temp admin account and a temp FTP account… or … the error should be logged in the PHP error log. Activate the plugin, then go stright to the PHP error log in your web host’s control panel. Let me know what you find.

GuestI’m getting the same thing when I try to activate. I had the previous version installed and it was running great. It installs just fine, but activation causes this message….
Warning: require_once(D:\hosting\4073379\html/wp-content/plugins/connections/includes/class.options.php) [function.require-once]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in D:\hosting\4073379\html\wp-content\plugins\connections\connections.php on line 272
Fatal error: require_once() [function.require]: Failed opening required ‘D:\hosting\4073379\html/wp-content/plugins/connections/includes/class.options.php’ (include_path=’.;C:\php\pear’) in D:\hosting\4073379\html\wp-content\plugins\connections\connections.php on line 272
Help? Or can I get a zip of the previous version?

GuestFTP’d into the host and saw the connections folder in the wp-content/plugins and deleted it. Then saw 2 other connections directories outside the folder (images and templates) and deleted those. Logged back into wp-admin and installed connections. Logged out. Logged back into wp-admin and activated. It worked! Not sure which of these steps did the trick, but it’s working now. Thanks.

It seems you were upgrading from a “much older” version and for some reason the upgrade did overwrite all the older files. How did you do the upgrade? Manually via FTP? Anyway deleting the
../wp-content/plugins/connections/
folder is what fixed it for you. -
