I am using the tile plus template on my website which works fine, using this shortcode on the page [connections_list].
However, I want to use the profile template on another page on the same website. I have created a separate category for it and have used this shortcode on that page:
[connections template="profile" category_name="Mentors" ]
However, it is not working. I just get the tile plus template and not the profile template. What am I doing wrong? Is it possible to use two different templates on the same website?

I just tried using this shortcode: [connections id=28 template='profile'] and I get ‘no results’ on the webpage. But there is definitely an entry in that category.

Yes, you can run as many templates on the site as you want. Every one of the available templates are actually running on this site.

The shortcodes in the first post appears to be correct. Other than the incorrect template being used, is the correct category being shown?

In the second post, was the Profile template displayed? The id option is to display a single entry, not a category. You want to use the category option is you want to specify a category by id.

Which version of Connections are you currently running?

I am running the latest version. I have tried to correct the shortcode to include the correct category code so now this is what I am trying: [connections template="profile" connections category="28" ]

Again it is not working. This is what the page looks like: http://blackbritishacademics.co.uk/mentors/view/all/ It is only supposed to have one entry as there is only one entry on that category ID. But it is showing all of the connections  entries. Also on the page with the Tile Plus template it now shows the profile template entry: http://blackbritishacademics.co.uk/directory/

The “View All” link is supposed to show only the names. You should be linking to: http://blackbritishacademics.co.uk/mentors/

The only issue I see is that you said you were showing different categories on the different pages. It seems to be the same category on the both pages. So I would check you category shortcode option set for the Directory and Mentor pages.

Okay, I have now got the page with the profile template working correctly: http://blackbritishacademics.co.uk/mentors/?cn-cat=28

But this category is also showing on the Tile Plus template page:http://blackbritishacademics.co.uk/directory/

Since I have dozens of categories that apply to the tile plus template, is there a shortcode I can use to exclude category ID 28 from the tile plus page?

Sorry, no. That is on the to do list, but honestly it has been on there for a long time because it keeps getting bumped for more frequently requested features so I couldn’t say when this will be implemented.
