GuestHi,
I’ve used your plug-in on my father-in-law’s site amesgoldenk.org for their directory and it’s worked like a dream. I am now building a website for christoscenter.org and they want 2 different types of people listings:
* Student Directory | Alumni Directory, which will be private
* Spiritual Director Directory, which will be publicMy first question is for the public directory: I see you have a form for them to add their own entries to the directory, which is great. Once they have entered it, is there a way for them to edit their own entry? Does it require a login? What happens if they add a duplicate entry?
If they can log in later to edit their entry, is there a login module that you find works well with Connections?
Second question: There will be overlap of people between the spiritual directory directory and the alumni directory. However, the alumni directory will either require a login or be password protected. Will those people who reside in both need double entries? (I would imagine the contact information will be different in some cases.) Or will it simply be a matter of what is displayed.

re: first question
If you want the users to maintain their own entry, you need to use Link, not Form. using Link will prevent the possibility of duplicate entry and allow the user to maintain their own entry. Using Link, yes, the user will require a login.re: login module
I do not have any that I can recommend but any plugin that has a shortcode for a login form or a widget should work just fine.re: second question
I would not expect that they would need double entries. Parts of the entry such as addresses and phone numbers can be marked as private. When marked as private, those details will only be exposed to users that are logged in if that there user role has been setup to allow the viewing of private details.Hope that helps!
