I would like to build a service provider list based on user recommendations. I will ask users to recommend service providers and create a list of painters, appliance repair companies, house keeper etc for use by the community. I would also like the community to rate and write reviews on the service providers. In looking at the available plugins I found one that comes highly recommended for the directory component as well as reviews. Before I turn to it I wanted to make sure that you do not offer a similar service either on your own or in combination with another plugin. Looking at your list of products it does not seem that you do but I want to confirm. The service providers would be organized and bundled by category so that the initial presentation to the user would be a list of categories and then they can click through to see the providers and ratings. Better yet if we would see a TOC of provider categories and then click through to see the providers in a list with the star rating next to the entires and then click the provider for details that would be best. Thanks.

Sorry, no, there is no review and ratings extension for Connections at this time.

In the Widget Pack there is a category widget that you can place in the theme’s sidebar. This widget outputs a list of categories that when clicked will take the user to the directory home page filtered by the category that they clicked. They can navigate the various categories simply by clicking the link in the category widget. If you decide to use the widget, you should disable the category drop down on the template so they do not conflict.
