ParticipantHi,
Since I understand that I need to create both WordPress users and Connection users I would like to know which value is the unique identifier to use Link.
Therefor I would like to do a batch import for WordPress with basic information, including firstname, lastname, username, password and email address so they are registered as subscribers.
How do I import the contacts within Connections? Do I need to buy another plugin for this? And how do I make sure the both adressbooks are linked?
Many thanks!

re: which value is the unique identifier to use Link
The WordPress user is linked to the Connections entry ID and is stored in the usermeta with the key name ofconnections_entry_id
with the value being the entry ID.re: How do I import the contacts within Connections? Do I need to buy another plugin for this?
Actually, there is no way of doing this without writing an extension to do it.re: And how do I make sure the both addressbooks are linked?
That’s what Link does.Does that help?

ParticipantHi Steven,
Ok, so I need the CSV importer, no probs.
But I still am unaware of the process, if I import new connections with the CSV importer does that create WordPress users? Or vice versa? I need to import over 400 users (employees) in a client intranet and do not looking forward to do this multiple times or even worse, do it one by one.
Thanks

No, the CSV Import only adds entries to the Connections database, no users are created as they are completely separate. The Link extension for Connections creates a “symbolic” link between the two for users such as yourself that need the two to be linked to each other.
You can likely use the same CSV file you imported into Connections with one of these plugins to import them as WP users:

https://wordpress.org/plugins/import-users-from-csv/Hope that helps!

GuestWhat is the preferred order for importing – WP users first then Connections listings or vice versa or does it matter?

Doesn’t matter but I’d guess if I were doing it, I’d import users first. The only way it would matter is if your users starting logging in before they were imported into Connections. Even then, that is not all that bad because they will be searched for a link on their next login.I hope that helps!
