ParticipantI have searched in the plug-in and on this site, but could find anything on this:
Is it possible to make the Link Directory photo of a user the avatar photo?
When a user now uploads a photo to their profile, the avatar photo is still the standard ‘white silhouette on a grey background’.I can use http://wordpress.org/plugins/add-local-avatar/ for users to upload their own avatar (it may be nice to have a separate avatar and profile picture now that I am thinking some more about this..), but then they have multiple places to go to for their profile management.
It would be perfect if you can integrate a avatar upload module in the ‘Edit My Directory Entry’ for the user.

There’s already an option for the user to upload their own photo. Not cure it make sense to allow the use of avatars… but I’ve added it to my feature request list.

ParticipantLet me explain what I am using it for, maybe them it makes some more sense.
I use the plugin for an intranet website so employees can tell a bit about themselves and their skills, add their contact information, make these things searchable for other people when they need somebody with specific skills and make the whole lot look a bit presentable. They will add a picture to make it a little bit more personal.
The website itself also contains some other elements where people can leave comments and interact (blog, forum, etc). These elements use the avatar connected to the Word Press user account, not the picture added to your plugin. I think it is a bit boring to choose for the default ‘mystery man’ avatar for every user, so I would like them to be able to upload a personal image.
And since I will use your plugin for most of the user information part, as far as the user is concerned that is, it would be nice to be able to upload an avator form the plugin.Does this make any sense? :)

Ahhh, yes. That does make perfect sense. This has actually prompted me to log this in my issue tracker … I’ve had this scribbled on a sticky note.
Here’s the links to the issues:
