ParticipantHi Steven I noticed a conflict with connections and Avada social icons, which use fontawsome. My Instagram icon changes to a Y when I enable connections. I have disabled all my plugins and gone to Avada (non child theme) and the issue still happens. it occurs in my top menu and my footer.
I attached a picture of what happens when connections is enabled vs disabled. I believe it happens with a couple other icons as well (but i dont use them).
I am not really sure when the issue started. Have you seen this happen before? I have a most recent connections installed. do you have any earlier (but compatable) versions I can install to see if an update caused the issue? have you seen this type of issue before?

Keymaster@ dominic
Looks like both Avada devs and I made the same mistake. Neither I or they prefixed their font family names for our custom font icon sets (nothing to do with Font Awesome). We both used icomoon to create the custom icon font so both have the icomoon font-family declared but they both contain different glyphs, so, which ever loads last is being used. In this case, It seems the Connections version is being loaded last.
I can push out an update later this week which properly prefixes the Connections icon font family name. The Avada devs should be encouraged to do the same, if you want to open a support ticket with them.
Apologies for the trouble!

ParticipantThanks for the quick and informative reply. it was “fun” troubleshooting, but glad the issue was found and hopefully was not much invetigating on your part.
As usual great support for your plugin.
I will message Avada devs as well with your reply.

KeymasterThanks! It was not much trouble at all.
If you have a moment, I would truly appreciate a review as they really do make a difference.
