ParticipantI’d like the images to shrink to fit in the image boxes when the membership database is viewed. Right now it’s either blown up, or cut off- How can I make it auto fit? Everyone’s image dimensions are different. Some are landscape, some are portrait, etc. Thank you!

The images are dynamically scaled and cropped as well as responsive. What you’ll see depends on what your image settings are and which template you are using. What I need to know is:
- Which template?
- What are your image settings?
- Need samples of the original images uploaded.
- Can you share a link the directory?
My suggestions are:
- Put the images settings back to their defaults found on the Connections : Settings admin page under the Images tab.
- If you are are using any image related shortcode options for the templates, remove them.
For the most uses the image defaults and the template defaults for images are the best choice for presentation.

I haven’t made any changes to the template at all.
The template is Default Entry Card 3.0

Ok, the first thing you need to do is remove the
code
and/orpre
tags from around the shortcode. See the first and second paragraphs in this FAQ.Now, as for the image crop, that is exactly what you should be seeing. The default is to scale and crop the image to fit the specified image dimensions.
You can change this in by navigating to the Connections : Templates admin page and clicking the Customize button for the Default Entry Card template. The page will reload with the Template Customizer on the left and a preview on the right. Click the back arrow on the upper left of the Customizer and then click the Image panel.
Now, choose your desired Crop Mode. For logos, the second or third option is best.
After you have chosen a Crop Mode, click an entry name in the preview. Any entry name will do. The preview will reload displaying the single entry profile view of the template. Chose your desired Crop Mode again and then click the Save and Publish button.
Just as some additional info, you have to do this twice because results list view and the single entry profile view of the template can be configured separately giving you pretty good flexibility to customize your directory.
Hope that helps!

Great to hear!
ps. The next update… I’ve been working on some code to help remove/fix common shortcode issues. One being the auto removal of
code
andpre
HTML tags that get wrapped around the shortcode when copy/pasting from a web page. -
