I want to use your plugin to create a directory of my company’s partners. There are 4 types, like resellers, SIs, technology, etc.
For the consulting and channel partners I’ll also want to associate each one with the countries they do business in. Does your plugin provide any way to also filter listings by a second parameter, maybe a tag? I’d need them to not be mutually exclusive, so I could filter to both a country and a type, like “Resellers in Singapore.” Y’all got that move?
I’m using Gridder theme which meets my look-and-feel needs, have a staged version under construction, but need to know what I can do regarding categorizing by both “type” and location, with multiple “countries.”

I marked the original post as resolved and since the original post was “anonymous” rather than that of a logged in user it becomes closed. Now that you opened, logged in, this topic, even if I mark it resolved, you will be able to reply. Others may respond too, until I mark it resolved at which point only you will be able to add more replies. This is to help prevent other adding new support questions to old threads which have no relevance to their question… it happened, a lot. Hope that makes sense.

Apologies I didn’t answer this previously… I assumed that you answered your own questions with the so far so good comment.
Sound like you can use categories to accomplish what you want. Two top level categories, One for Countries the other for “consulting and channel partners”. You could then enable the multiple category search with the
enable_category_multi_selectshortcode option like so:[connections enable_category_multi_select='true']Another option, still category based would be a custom multi-categories search like implemented on https://sscit.org/ which is a bit more end user intiuitive.

ParticipantThanks, great info! Checked out both options, the SSCIT user experience is exactly what I’m trying to achieve. How would I go about doing that?
You call it “custom” so I reckon it’s beyond the realm of shortcodability. I can see the HTML behind it, of course, and I could replicate the experience by building my own <select> menus, replacing terms with my own categories, but that’d be quite a kludge that’d require a code change every time I added a category (which would be rare but I bet there’s a better way, eh?)
I’m HTML/CSS/WordPress myself, but do have an expert web/wordpress developer I call upon for help with programmy stuff. I’d be happy to pay you or him to do the same thing for me, or pay SSCIT to piggyback on any work they did.

This is actually an extension I made for Connections. I consider it to be production ready just not ready for general availability, so when I sell it, it includes installation and configuration. If you’d like a quote, please contact me using the link Contact link at the very bottom of the page.
Thanks!
